Dear Members and Friends of St. Luke’s:

One thing about being ordained for 51 years is I get invited to officiate at a wedding of a 31 year old young lady who I have known since she was six.  It is truly a wonderful experience.  I will be doing this next weekend in Jaffrey, New Hampshire.  Deacon Vonnie will take services here next Sunday.  All the hymns we did not sing last Sunday, since we didn’t have an organist, we will sing this Sunday.

Please let us know if you will be attending our Parish Party on Sunday, Sept. 7.

Assisting at services on August 17:

  • 8:00 a.m.
    • Usher: Pat Guarino
  • 10:00 a.m.
    • Ushers: Robyn Wood & Rachel Ray
    • Acolyte: Greg S. Strong
    • Lector: René Barron
    • Chalice: Ronda DeVido
    • Altar Guild: Lisa & Greg Strong

God’s blessings be with you.

Sincerely,

Weekly Message 8/5/14

Dear members and Friends of St. Luke’s:

July went by so quickly;  I just realized that as of July 8 I began my ninth year at St. Luke’s.  In my 51 years of priesthood, St. Luke’s has become my second longest ministry position.  I’m very thankful for the time.

Now that August has begun, preparation for the programs and activities for the parish from September to next June have started.  A great deal of planning for the Sunday School has been in the process for several weeks.  We planned four levels of instruction and we need more teachers or assistants to accomplish our Christian educational goals.  Please consider joining the vital ministry at St. Luke’s. Sunday school will begin September 14.  Since there will be more DVD visual material we could use extra DVD players and TV screens.  If you can donate one or the other please let me know.

The end of August concludes schedules for ushers, acolytes, readers, and chalice bearers.  If anyone wishes to join these ranks contact me now so I can include you in the new schedules.

Now that our Great Hall has been beautifully done over, it is available for people to use for various parties and activities.  Call the office (845-831-2643) to make arrangements.

I’m still looking for photographs to be used at the St. Luke exhibit on Spirit of Beacon Day (Sunday, Sept. 28).

Call Olu (831-0266) if you can help get ads for our Tag Sale Journal or if you would like to purchase one ($100 full page, $50 ½ page or $25 for ¼ page).

All of the above help support and express the Lord’s ministry as conducted here.  Thank you for your participation.

God’s blessings be with you.

Sincerely,
Edwin H. Cromey
Vicar

Thank you.

See you on Sunday!
