St. Andrew’s & St. Luke’s Food Pantry
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; Matthew 25:35
St. Andrew’s and St. Luke’s Food Pantry (SASLFP) is located at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 17 South Avenue in Beacon. We are currently available on Saturday mornings from 10:00 through 11:00 for neighbors who find themselves in need of food for any reason. Please tell your friends and neighbors and anyone who you think might need assistance. We do require proof of residence, and we currently do not limit visitation. Visitors 18 and over are served with dignity and with as little intrusion as possible.
Right now, millions of Americans are struggling with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days. The face of hunger is as diverse as our community, and a condition we work to help alleviate through our small pantry.
You can help alleviate hunger directly by donating to any or all of the local groups working to feed our neighbors. We’ve listed just two of the many groups that need help below, and of course we’d appreciate any direct support you can provide us as well. If you do make a donation to the Food Bank, make sure to ask them to credit it to St. Andrew’s & St. Luke’s Food Pantry!
Your financial donation truly goes a long way at the Food Bank. Because the bulk of its food is donated and it operates very efficiently, the Food Bank is able to provide 4 meals worth of food to a hungry person for every dollar donated. And participate in food drives like Stuff The Bus, the US Postal Service, or at your Church, Temple, office, etc. We benefit directly from those efforts and anything you can do will help ease the stress of food insecurity in someone’s life.
